This Week in Washington: Filibuster Reform, NDAA, and Sec. Hagel’s visit to BIW

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In his ongoing effort to keep people at home up to date with his work in the Senate, U.S. Senator Angus King took a few minutes to highlight this week’s events in Washington.

In his recap, Senator King discussed:

- His recent vote in support of filibuster reform, which reflects his belief that judicial and executive nominees, excluding Supreme Court nominees, deserve an up-or-down vote in the Senate regardless of what party is in the majority or controls the White House.

- His work on the National Defense Authorization Act, which contains several provisions designed to support Maine’s shipbuilding and footwear industries.

- Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel’s visit to BIW, following invitations from Senator King and Senator Collins.

The full video of Senator King’s weekly recap can be viewed below. A broadcast quality version of the video can also be downloaded here.
