Academy Nominations

Since 1802, many of America's finest students have sought to enroll as cadets or midshipmen at our nation's prestigious United States service academies. To apply to attend the Naval, Military, Air Force or Merchant Marine Academies, students must receive a nomination, typically from one of their Members of Congress.  

Applicants must be:

1.  at least 17 years old, but not yet 23 years of age, on July 1st of the year you enter the Academy (25 years of age for the Merchant Marine Academy),

2. a United States citizen, and a legal and permanent resident of Maine,

3. and unmarried with no dependents.

Logistics

The nomination application for the Class of 2030 is closed. Stay tuned for more information about the next application cycle which opens in May.

The Maine congressional delegation will be hosting its next Service Academy Night, in conjunction with Maine Maritime Academy, in Bangor on April 9th. Interested high school students and their families can learn more about the world-class educational opportunities that service academies offer as well as the congressional nomination and academy selection processes.  More details about the event can be found here.
