The Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) funding opportunity allows members of Congress to secure federal funding for specific projects in Maine. This opportunity is only available to nonprofit organizations and state and local governments. For-profit entities are not eligible for CDS funds.
CDS Request Form: Senator King’s FY27 CDS application is now closed. A copy of the application is available for download here.
Application Requirements and General Information: The CDS funding opportunity is extremely competitive. There is no guarantee that the Senate Appropriations Committee will grant CDS requests in a given year and no requested CDS project is considered “final” until that project is included in a final appropriations law that passes both chambers of Congress and is signed into law by the President.
When thinking about submitting a request, please keep the following in mind:
Note: Any applicant for funding that requested unsuccessfully in prior fiscal cycles that wishes to be reconsidered for funding must submit a new application for each fiscal year, with updated information.
