King Hears Directly from Maine People on Impeachment

BRUNSWICK, ME – Today, U.S. Senator Angus King held a listening session where hundreds of Maine people shared their thoughts on the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. Senator King’s listening session, which was attended by an overflow crowd of over three hundred Maine people from around the state, comes prior to an expected Wednesday vote on the two articles of impeachment, and days after the Senate blocked new witnesses, including Ambassador John Bolton; Senator King strongly supported hearing from these witnesses.

“Maine people sent me to Washington to speak on their behalf – but in order to truly do that, I need to listen. Today, I had that opportunity,” said Senator King. “I’m deeply grateful to everyone who came out to share their views, and will be carrying their thoughts with me back to Washington as the Senate moves towards the conclusion of this process.”
