Navy Awards Bath Iron Works More Than $18 Million Contract

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME), a senior member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, and Angus King (I-ME), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today announced that the U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics a contract in the amount of $18,006,165 for work to be completed at Bath Iron Works.

This modification to a previously awarded contract will help provide additional technical and industrial engineering of the DDG-1000 class ships.

"BIW’s workers are among the most skilled in the world. The ships they build are on the cutting edge of technology and serve to strengthen our country's national security and its ability to protect our interests overseas," said Senators Collins and King in a joint statement.
