King Statement on Election of Clayton Rose to Serve as President of Bowdoin College

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) released the following statement today in response to the announcement that Clayton S. Rose, a member of the faculty at Harvard Business School, has been elected the next President of Bowdoin College:

“I am excited to join with the faculty, staff, and students at Bowdoin in congratulating and welcoming their new President, Clayton Rose,” Senator King said. “Bowdoin is an outstanding institution, and with Mr. Rose’s wide breadth of professional experience, I have every confidence that he will only continue to build upon that strong reputation of academic excellence. I look forward to having the chance to meet with him as he assumes his new role and to working with him in the years to come.”

Following his governorship and prior to his election to the Senate, Senator King served as a Distinguished Lecturer at Bowdoin College where he taught a course on leaders and leadership.
