In July Podcast, King Discusses Economic Impact of Arts in Maine

BRUNSWICK, ME – U.S. Senator Angus King (I-Maine) today released the July edition of his podcast, Inside Maine. In the July edition, Senator King interviews Julie Richard, Executive Director of the Maine Arts Commission, and Louise Rosen, Director of L/A Arts, a local arts agency that helps support and promote the arts in the Lewiston/Auburn region. Senator King and his guests discuss the art culture in Maine, the impact of the art community on the Maine economy and summer art events around the state.

"The arts support communities, attract tourists, and grow Maine's economy,” Senator King said. "From music festivals to art shows, and from Kittery to Madawaska, Maine people gather each summer to celebrate some of our greatest treasures – the creativity of our artists and beauty of our state."

The “Inside Maine Podcast with Senator Angus King” is a 30-minute program that aims to help keep Maine people informed about issues of the day, how they affect life in the state, and how they factor into Senator King’s work as one of two independents in the U.S. Senate. Senator King’s podcast builds on his existing radio show that airs on Newsradio WGAN in Portland, Maine between 10 and 11 a.m. on almost every last Saturday of the month.
